Chapter 3.08, Generation 3

Chapter 3.08

They tried to get together and play every Tuesday night.

“Of course,” Cameron said and shot the ball in the basket, “score!”

“And how about your girl? Are we finally gonna have the pleasure to meet her?”

“Maybe, I didn’t ask her yet.”

Cameron was nervous to introduce Hailey to his family. She didn’t know who his mother was and how he treated his father after her suicide. She didn’t know how he was in the past and she didn’t know he was married and is now going through a divorce with a girl that is going to be a guest at this party.

Hailey invited Cameron to watch a movie at her house. He knew it was the perfect and maybe his only opportunity to finally spill the beans before Saturday comes.

She loved sci fi and fantasy movies the most. Cameron wasn’t the biggest fan but he would watch anything with her as long as he could hold her.

And kiss her…

She was a great kisser but he could tell she didn’t have much experience in that department.

He pulled her closer to him and and his hand started to slowly move higher and higher on her chest. He gently massaged her breast and it was obvious that she loved the feeling of it but she pulled away.

“Is something wrong?” he asked worried.

“No, no, it’s great I just…I don’t think I’m ready for this yet. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. I’m sorry. I need to talk to you anyway.”

“Ok?”

“There is a couple of things you should know about me before I invite you to my father’s birthday party this Saturday,” Cameron said and moved on the end of the couch as to give her space to take it all in. There was no turning back now.

“So now you know everything about me.” he finished.

Hailey was carefully listening the whole time, not interrupting him once.

“Are you seriously telling me that Becca Cooper from Laser woman was your mother? I loved her in that movie!”

Cameron couldn’t help but laugh, “you’re such a nerd.”

“Shut up. She was great in it.” she laughed with him but then she got serious, “I’m sorry about her and your sister. It must have been terrible time for you and your dad. I’m glad you’re talking to him again. Family is important.”

“It’s thanks to you, Hailey. You changed me.”

She scooted closer to him and hugged him tightly. They never discussed his marriage but she heard him clearly. There was just no need to dig deeper. He was taking care of it and she wanted to give him the time he needed.

“Dad, this is Hailey,” Cameron introduced his new girlfriend.

“Nice to meet you Mr. Cooper and happy birthday.”

“Thank you. It’s nice to finally meet you too, Hailey. I was starting to think you don’t exist.”

“Good one, dad,” Cameron smirked, “look, there’s Julie, come I’ll introduce you.”

He took Hailey’s hand and lead her to his soon to be ex wife.

“Hey, babe,” Julie said and gave him a hug, “you promised you’ll stay in touch. Liar.”

“Hey, I’m busy,” he said. He knew she was just teasing him. They spoke on the phone multiple times since they broke up, “this is Hailey.”

“So that’s Hailey, huh?” she looked her up and down, “I’ve heard so much about you. You really are gorgeous.”

The two girls hit it off and spent quite some time chatting. Their main topic was Cameron, of course.

Hailey got to meet all the members of his family and close friends.

“How is the apartment working out for you?” Natasha asked. She was one of the best real estate agents in the city.

“It’s great. Thank you so much for that. I actually have another job for you, Tahsa. There is a property I need you to get some information about. It’s a secret tho, so not a word to anyone please. I’ll text you the address tomorrow.”

Everyone had a great time, especially Lucas, who was enjoying all the attention from his brother and his new girlfriend. He fell in love with her right away, just like the rest of Cameron’s family.

After all the guests left, Cameron and Hailey stayed to enjoy the beautiful summer night and also finally have some time for themselves. They spent the day socializing with his family and friends and didn’t have much time to actually talk to each other.

“I was a little nervous about meeting your family, knowing the past and how, you know, rich everyone is, but I have to say, I couldn’t even tell if you didn’t tell me.” Hailey shared her concerns.

She was just a regular girl. Her parents weren’t exactly poor but they also never had a lot of money.

“You had no reason to be nervous. I knew they will love you, just like I do.”

As soon as he finished, Cameron realized what just came out of his mouth. He meant it with all his heart. He realized that for the first time in his life, he is really in love.

“You…you love me?”

“I…I’m sorry if it’s too soon. I know you want to take things slow and I’m totally ok with that I just…I do…I love you, Hailey.”

“I think I’m falling for you too, Cam.”

A/N: As much as I love all characters from the beginning of my story, I recommend you start with generation four here since I didn’t have enough photos and experience with writing when I started this story. I plan on updating these chapters eventually 🙂
