He didn’t see his parents or sister until he ran through the house into the backyard. His parents were both in tears and he will never forget the picture of his little sister lying there on the ground and the paramedic pressing on her chest, trying to bring her back to life.
But it was too late.
“There is nothing we can do,” the paramedic said after what seemed like hours, “I’m very sorry.”
Cameron was standing there in shock. Without a sign of emotion.
Was it a dream?
A really really bad dream?
She can’t be gone, right?
All these questions were streaming through his head until he realized that it is not a dream. His little sister is really dead. She drowned. And that was when the tears started rolling down his cheeks and he broke down.
Becca was in Dales arms and they were both crying on each other’s shoulders.
Becca started to slowly slip away, her body wasn’t listening to her. She couldn’t stand on her feet any longer. She couldn’t hear the voices and sirens anymore. All she could hear was buzzing in her ears.
“Honey, come lay down.” Dale picked his wife up and carried her to bed passing his daughter’s body covered with a white cloth.
Becca didn’t leave the bedroom for days. She was unable to function and didn’t say a word to anybody. Not her husband, her son, her parents…
The funeral was ten days later. Becca had to be heavily sedated to even be able to attend. It was the saddest moment for everyone. What’s sadder and more unfair than burying a child.
“Honey,” Dale quietly entered the room where Becca spent the majority of her time now, “everything is packed. Are you ready to go?”
The family decided to move back to Sierra after this tragedy. Non of them could stand walking around the house in which their daughter and sister lost her life.
Becca looked ten years older now. The loss of her child left a mark on her mind and her body. Would she ever be alright?
A/N: As much as I love all characters from the beginning of my story, I recommend you start with generation four here since I didn’t have enough photos and experience with writing when I started this story. I plan on updating these chapters eventually 🙂
