“Cam doesn’t love you, he loves Julie. I love Julie too. You’re ugly.” Caitlin was screaming at Rose when she saw her sitting by the fire pit with her older brother.
Becca agreed that Cameron can invite a friend to spend the day on the beach with them. She felt guilty for taking him away from his friends back at home. She knew he was right in that part.
Cameron stood up and put his hands on his hips. “What are you talking about Caitlin? I told you a million times that Julie is my friend and we don’t love each other. Nobody likes a mean girl. Now apologize to Rose.”
Caitlin looked down on the sand, “sorry.”
“Say it like you mean it.”
“I’m sorry, you’re not ugly. You are real pretty.”
“It’s ok,” Rose smiled at the little girl, “I know you miss Julie and home. I would too if I was so far away. And you know what? You’re really pretty too.”
“That’s better, now why don’t you build a sandcastle or something, hm?
“Fine,” Caitlin said and sat on the sand next to them.
“Sorry about her, she can be a little mean sometimes.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it, she’s just a kid.”
“Can you guys help?” Caitlin turned around and and saw them kissing. “Ewww, gross!”
The two teenagers laughed and sat down next to her to help her with the sand castle she was trying to create from a pile of sand.
Couple weeks later the Coopers threw a pool party to celebrate the end of summer. It was a full house as always when all Becca’s siblings, nephews and her parents got together. Becca was the only one from the family that had daughters. All her siblings had sons and Brandon with Dana also adopted a little boy after years of unsuccessful trying to conceive.
“How do you like living in Kensington so far?” Dale’s brother in law asked.
“It’s great, man. No stressing about work for a change is nice. Becca is loving it too, she’s so excited to have all you guys around.”
“Yea, that’s great. How about the kids?”
“Well Caitlin loves it here, she can’t wait to start school next week. Cameron is having a harder time but I think once he gets busy with school and stuff he’ll be fine. He’s got too much time on his hands right now.”
“Thank you for not saying anything to Dan about Cam. He would kill me.”
“Oh, don’t worry. No need to make the move even harder on him than it already is.”
“I’m a little worried about him. If he keeps behaving like this I don’t know what to do.”
“Relax, remember you when you were fifteen? You made me cook for your party and then you got me drunk without me even knowing!”
The sisters laughed so hard remembering their teenage years.
“And look where it got me,” Becca continued after she calmed down, “I don’t want him to get someone pregnant at fifteen.”
“Then you better buy him some condoms.” Beata winked at her younger sister.
Summer was almost over and the kids were getting ready for their new school that was starting in a week. Cameron was spending most of his time with his new girlfriend and Caitlin was enjoying the pool as long as she could before fall comes. Fall in Sierra was still hot and sunny but in Kensington nights were already very chilly and days were mostly rainy.
The family was having a great time living in a new house in a new city, until….
A/N: As much as I love all characters from the beginning of my story, I recommend you start with generation four here since I didn’t have enough photos and experience with writing when I started this story. I plan on updating these chapters eventually 🙂
