Chapter 2.07, Generation 2

Chapter 2.07

“Hi honey, how was your day?” Dale asked when he called after he got out of the restaurant he works at.

“It was ok, Carie was in pre-k in the morning so I had time to get some stuff ready for her birthday party. How was yours?”

“Mine was good, great actually. I have some news.”

“Go on.”

“So, do you remember the house we looked at together when you were here? The one you really liked?”

“Yea? The expensive one?”

“Well, yea. I put in an offer for it and they accepted! You and Carie can finally move here and we can live together!”

“Oh my God, Dale, that’s amazing! I was starting to think you’re not really looking,” she joked.

Dale was looking for a house for almost a year now but there was always something wrong with every house he’s looked at. But this one seemed just perfect. Even better because Becca was just visiting, when his real etate agent called him that there is an open house just minutes from the downtown of Sierra, so they went to check it out together and both of them fell in love. It was a little over budget but Dale still secretly made an offer and decided to only tell Becca if they accept. And they did!

“I guess it’s time to break the news to my parents then. Mom will be devastated.”

This made Becca sad. She wished she could stay close to her family. Her parents helped her so much with Carissa. She couldn’t have done it without them.

“Dinner’s ready” Becca placed a big plate of spaghetti in the middle of the dining table.

“So, what’s the occasion?” Adeline asked.

“Yea, well, I wanted to tell you guys something.”

“That sounds serious, what is it?” Adam joined the conversation.

“Dale found a house and me and Carie are moving to Sierra next month, right after her birthday party.” Becca said quickly and kept looking down at her plate.

Adeline put her fork on the side of her plate and looked at her. She kept looking until Becca met her gaze and finally said, “that’s great news, honey. We will miss you like crazy, but we are very happy you found someone special to you. Right?” she poked Adam.

“Right. Mom’s right, we will visit and you will always have a room in our house if you ever need it.” Adam smiled at his daughter.

“Thank you for understanding,” Becca stood up and hugged her mother and her father tightly, “you are amazing parents.”

“Well, we had a lot of kids to practice on.”

Adam always had a great sense of humor. That’s why Adeline fell in love with him when she was just a young girl.

The guests started to slowly fill out the small house.

This is going to be a bitter sweet party, Becca thought.

Her little girl is turning five and she will have to say goodbye to all her loved ones.

Happy Birthday Carissa!

A/N: As much as I love all characters from the beginning of my story, I recommend you start with generation four here since I didn’t have enough photos and experience with writing when I started this story. I plan on updating these chapters eventually 🙂
